News for the Bristol Music Scene…
One of the most celebrated events, the Simple Things festival, critically acclaimed for their commitment to innovative and forward-facing music culture, returns for its 10th Anniversary.
Bristol Beacon has reopened, Simple Things are celebrating a special anniversary and live music has never been more needed.
The action-packed event has endless excitement, including a programme centered around a full day of music on Saturday, February 24th, following a separate day and night programme filled with some of the most eclectic and groundbreaking names in music today, all performing in some of Bristol’s best-loved venues.
For the first time in the festival’s storied history, there will be a week-long series of events, separate from the primary day, to emphatically bring in the 10th year of the festival. This includes an extra special closing concert from vaunted avant-garde trailblazer Fever Ray on Thursday, 29 February.
For the first round of names, Simple Things is proud to announce a line-up of cutting-edge artists, festival first-timers and returning local heroes of the Bristol music scene: Max Cooper, Warmduscher, Les Savy Fav, Gilla Band, Wu-Lu, Flowdan, Jeshi, Giant Swan, Spectres and much more.
Simple Things is best known as a multi-venue music event in Bristol’s city centre. The event has grown to become one of the most celebrated in Bristol’s musical calendar, critically acclaimed for their commitment to innovative and forward-facing music culture. It’s also a known promoter in the city, for Bristol music scene, hosting standalone gigs and club nights all year round. Check out who they’re bringing to Bristol in the coming months.
Launched in 2010 by Matt Aitken and Saul Minshall at venues including Start the Bus and the Bierkeller, the festival has built up a reputation for being a progressive and diverse event that showcases some of the best established and upcoming artists around the world.
