What makes a studio fashion-shoot ready

Not every space that calls itself a “studio” is built for fashion work, so it’s worth knowing what to look for.

Infinity wall and clean backdrops

A good infinity cove, where the wall curves seamlessly into the floor with no visible seam, gives you a clean, uninterrupted background. That matters more for fashion than almost any other genre, since you want the clothes and the model to be the only thing anyone’s eye lands on. Lighting rig and control

Fashion photography lives and dies on lighting control. Green room, styling and changing space

Fashion shoots rarely involve just a photographer and a model. There’s usually a stylist, an assistant, sometimes a client or art director watching on. What to check before you book

Day rate vs half-day, what’s included

Ask exactly what’s included in the price before you commit. Photography studio hire here starts from £550 + VAT per day (Monday to Friday), and that includes use of the green room and styling suite, not an extra charge on top. If a full day is more than you need, ask about half-day options too.

Bring your own team or ask for recommendations

You’re welcome to bring your own photographer, stylist and full team and use the space as a straight hire. If you don’t have a full team lined up yet, it’s worth asking the studio if they can point you towards people they know and trust.

Then hair, make-up and first looks in the green room while the set gets its final touches. From there it’s a steady run through the shot list, swapping looks and adjusting light as you go.
