Whether you’re visiting Factory Studios for the first time or you’re a regular who knows their way around the desk, we want your session to feel smooth, relaxed, and creatively focused. That’s why we’ve pulled together this simple guide covering the questions we get asked most often, plus a few tips to help you make the most of your time here.

Before You Book: What to Know

Booking a session is as easy as choosing your room, date and time using our online system. Once you’ve confirmed, you’ll get an email with your booking details so you’ve got everything you need before you arrive.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Parking is limited, so give yourself a little extra time to find a spot. We also have bike lock-ups if you’re travelling on two wheels.

• If you need to change or cancel a session, please give us 48 hours’ notice so we can offer the slot to someone else.

• You’re welcome to bring your own gear; cables, pedals, laptops, controllers, or anything else that helps you do your thing.

If you’re booking specifically for recording or DJ use, checking the setup in advance helps ensure you choose the room that suits your workflow.

When You Arrive

Head in through the main entrance, and if a member of the team isn’t at the desk, don’t worry, we’re always nearby and keeping an eye on the building.

• The front gate may be locked during certain hours. If it is, give us a call and we’ll let you through.

• You can go straight to your room at your booked time, everything will be set up and ready to go.

Studio Etiquette: Our House Rules

We keep our rules friendly, practical and designed to give everyone a great experience.

Leave the room how you found it

We don’t mean military precision, just a quick tidy:

• Put amps and desks back to zero

• Return any borrowed cables or accessories

• Pack down drum kits if you’ve moved things around

• Spray microphones after you’ve used them

It helps us keep the space clean and ready for the next artist.

Food & drink

Cold food and drinks are absolutely fine. We just ask that hot food stay out of the rooms to protect equipment and keep the spaces fresh.

Substances & safety

Illegal substances are a no-go anywhere on the premises. Please respect the space and the people you’re sharing it with.

A FEW EXTRA TIPS FOR A SMOOTH SESSION

Over time we’ve learned a few things that help people get the best out of their time here:

• Bring spares: sticks, strings, USBs, hard drives; whatever applies to your session.

• Know your set or plan: even a loose idea saves valuable minutes.

• Arrive a little early, especially if you have gear to set up.

• Ask for help: seriously, whether it’s a cable, a stand or a quick question, we’re here for it.
