On October 28th, swelt released the ‘Red Mountain EP’, a collection of singles released throughout 2021. The band also released their new single ‘Salt’, alongside a music video shot and edited by swelt guitarist Chris Hicks.

“Salt was written in late 2019 and marks the final single from the set of four songs all written between 2019-2021. The song follows themes of loneliness and looks at our connection to nature as a form of escapism.” – Reuben Brunt

swelt formed in Bristol in 2019. Chris Hicks and Reuben Brunt (both formerly of Talons) were inspired to explore more quiet, dynamic forms of songwriting. They formed a friendship with Alex Holsgrove over a mutual appreciation of bands like Big Thief, Galaxie 500 and Duster. The three started playing together, soon to be joined by Anthony Brown (Repo Man) – writing music and playing intimate shows around the Bristol music scene.

Salt follows themes of loneliness and looks at our connection to nature as a form of escapism.
